Airflow Unit Converter

Convert volumetric airflow between common engineering units, with the conversion factors shown transparently so results can be checked.

Use a period for decimals, without thousands separators — e.g. 1250.5

Conversions

Cubic feet per minuteinput
1,000CFM
Cubic meters per hour
1,699.01m³/h
Liters per second
471.9474L/s

Methodology

The input is first converted to liters per second (L/s), the internal base unit, and then to every other unit. Factors derive from the exact definition 1 ft = 0.3048 m, so all three results stay mutually consistent.

  • 1 CFM = 0.4719474432 L/s
  • 1 CFM = 1.69901079552 m³/h
  • 1 m³/h = 1/3.6 ≈ 0.2777777778 L/s

Airflow unit conversion only — it does not calculate required cooling airflow, fan performance, pressure drop or equipment sizing.
